In Situ Simulation for Healthcare – Why, When and How? (MC3)

Overview:

In situ delivery of healthcare simulation has become increasingly popular for reasons of high authenticity and the opportunity to examine real world teamwork, and environmental and systems issues. However ISS needs to be integrated carefully into education and quality improvement programs, and there are lessons for how to deliver ISS safely and effectively. This masterclass will use a case study approach to focus participants on:

  1. Choosing appropriate ‘targets’ for ISS
  2. Detailed planning and delivery
  3. Debriefing effectively for the ISS objectives

The Master Class is suitable for all ranges of experience in ISS delivery, and participants will be encouraged to share their experience and future plans.
