Dr Mark O’Rourke

Serious Games Subcommittee

Mark has a PhD in Games-based learning, is a TEQSA registered expert and recently headed a team in the development of a games-based learning resource that won Bronze in the 2013 Global Learning Impact Awards in San Diego.
In 2007, he received the Fulbright Professional Scholarship to research immersive training environments at University of Southern California in LA.
He was also awarded an International Specialised Skills Institute Fellowship and received the 2010 Manufacturing Skills Australia (MSA) Innovation Award.
In a previous role as Multimedia Program Manager, he developed Victoria University’s multi-award winning interactive media and games development program.
He has worked as a researcher at VU, the University of Melbourne, the Otago University in New Zealand, the Murdoch Institute in Melbourne, and the Menzies School of Health Research in Darwin.
