A/Prof Leonie Watterson
Leonie is a specialist anaesthetist and Director of the Sydney Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre, Royal North Shore Hospital.
She has post graduate qualifications in education, organisational coaching and leadership and is currently completing a post graduate diploma in conflict resolution. She is a certified organisational coach and currently chairs the nascent “Coaching4Doctors” network.
Leonie was a founding executive member of the Australian Society for Simulation in Healthcare from 2005-2011; the inaugural chair of ASSH from 2007-2009; and the Convenor of the SimHealth conference in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2011. She was awarded a Simulation Industry Association of Australia (now Simulation Australasia) Simulation Achievement Award in 2010 for contributions to healthcare simulation.
She has worked in educational leadership roles for 20 years. As part of this role she has oversight of a number of training programs and competency assessment related to resuscitation and the deteriorating patient. Her other interests lie in professional skills and communication.
